To be close to the conference hotel, check the distance from Hastings Street, Noosa Heads. (Note: there are many surrounding areas with similar names, eg Noosa Junction, Noosa Springs, Noosa Sound, Noosaville. These are further away so be careful to check distance and walking time to Hastings Street, Noosa Heads.) On the map below, the conference is located near Main Beach (circled in red).

Some Alternative Accomodation Selections

Here are some alternative accommodation selections which are located close to the conference hotel.

Peppers Noosa Resort & Villas

Peppers is located on a hill above Hastings Street and is a 5-minute walk to the conference hotel. Bear in mind that you will need to walk up a hill to return to the resort.

Mantra French Quarter

Mantra French Quarter is located in Hastings Street and is an easy 3-minute walk to the conference hotel.

RACV Noosa Resort

If you wish to stay away from Hastings Street, RACV Noosa Resort is a 20-minute walk down the hill to the conference venue.

Travel Arrangements

Noosa Heads is located on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. It is accessible from Brisbane by road (140 km) or by air from Sydney and Melbourne.

Transfer from Brisbane

The cheapest direct option is to travel via an airport shuttle from Brisbane to Noosa. The cost is approximately A$65 one way or A$125 return for one person. It is possible to travel by train/bus but will take approximately 4 hours one way, and will cost about A$40 per person.

Transfer from Sydney or Melbourne

There are direct flights to the Sunshine Coast available from Sydney or Melbourne only (Jetstar, Virgin and Qantas [Sydney]). You will then need to travel by road from the Sunshine Coast airport to Noosa Heads. A taxi will take 30 minutes and cost approximately A$85. An uber will cost approximately A$57.00. An airport shuttle will cost approximately $35 for one person.

Important information


Noosa is famous for its mild, subtropical climate. In May, expect the temperature to be in the low to mid 20’s˚C during the day and cooler overnight. The water temperature will be around 20-22˚C.

Beach Safety

Always swim between the flags on Noosa’s patrolled beaches and follow the instructions of surf lifesavers. The Australian sun is unforgiving so cover and protect your skin well.
